plus size, What I Wore

OOTD Ruby&Rain Calla Skirt

February 26, 2018

Hi All!

It feels like a life time ago since I posted an outfit! I’ve been going through a bit of an uncomfortable summer clothing phase where I’ve been struggling to even document what I have been wearing. I think with the kids back in school again I am finding my routine – you know that Mum life means comfort comes before everything else.
I’m loving these Ruby and Rain midi skirts at the moment as they’re so comfortable and easy to wear.

I was fortunate to be gifted a few items this Calla Skirt in Nude Floral being one of them.   I also ordered it in black last night!

Here are a few thoughts on the skirt

Quality and price.
The fabric is so soft and firm but not restrictive.  The length is great, I am 182 cms tall and this sits at a nice length for me while having the skirts waist band, it’s one of those skirts where you can easily wear it higher or lower depending on the length you require.
I also think the back of the skirt is cut slightly longer then the front, I don’t know this for a fact – but sometimes when I wear skirts they feel like the ride up at the back – this doesn’t happen with this skirt.
Have I told you how soft it is?  sooo soft.
It retails for $145 – it is worth that price in my opinion – I am a cheap ass at the best of times so I get people’s hesitation.   The price reflects things such as it being  New Zealand designed and made item – it costs more to make clothing in NZ, as opposed to places like China and Bali.   The quality is assured – it will last – wash after wash for many seasons.
Also they make limited stock so not many people will own that piece of clothing, personally I like the exclusivity 🙂
I use Pay By laybuy which means I can pay in 6 weekly payments.  This is how I shop, just makes things a bit easier financially to spread the cost.

I styled this for a day working from home but I am keen to dress it up soon too (will totally share that here), I think my leather look jacket and a black singlet would look great – so watch this space.
