Spotlight on FishyPaint – a app for kids.

March 2, 2017

(FishyPaint App is only available on ios, this is a sponsored post and all words and opinions are mine.)

FishyPaint in its simplest form is an app where you can bring your aquatic art to life.
Download here.
Price – FREE
Description – FishyPaint is a high quality app that feels very natural. There are excellent help screens for the main sections, If users allow access to camera and photo stream, they can create their own fish, and even decorate them. It is very straight forward. You take photos of a drawing, be it a fish or even a pattern and you make it into a fish and watch the fish dart around as you touch the screen.

My 4-year-old uses this app, I have a phone full of weird and wonderful photos that he has snapped to ‘make the fishy swim’.

Is it really possible to paint with the kids and have no mess? It is!

It’s not JUST for kids though, I’m slightly obsessed.  Making weird catfishes, cos I’m a crazy catlady 🙂

You can use your own photos.
I took a photo of Emily’s art and made it into a fish, (You have a guideline of fish shape offers a starting point for custom fish, but you can also paint the shape of the fish yourself)

I took a photo of Jacob swimming and made him into a cute fishy

I took a photo of my cats and made their heads into catheadfish (not creepy at all right?)

I enjoy this app because it is easy enough for a 4-year-old to use but if you have a lot of imagination like I do, you will love it too.
(Oh and there are no pop up ads!)

Suggestions for the creators of Fishypaint

  • Noises.
Kids love noisy things, maybe add extra sounds to the fish and coral – really in your face vibrant, attention-getting noises.
  • Extra Backgrounds to choose from.
  • Fish races, allow them to create and then race characters around the screen, like for now when we touch the fish they dart away…maybe add some way to control them
  • Allow us to save the custom fish for the next game
  • Allow us to save in-game pictures to our photo stream.

Let me know in the comments if you have any other suggestions.

Added extra.

Shmonster the creators of FishyPaint have a really awesome app that I am dying to test out but I do not own a ipad.
Its called PuppetMaster (only available on iPad).

Can someone do me a favor and download it and let me know how you like it… please and send me screenshots 😛
You are able to export videos so send me those!

I wish it was on Android my kids love fishing.
I had a look at the videos and I thought it would be cute to add a diver or a fisherman who would try to catch fish and the fish escape
