The Mega Back to School Edit with tips to get organized.
It’s back to school time, here is my Back to School Edit containing some of my top picks from the Warehouse and some tips to get you organized for the glorious day where parents all over NZ rejoice in a little routine.
My kids wear school uniforms and are rubbish free schools so these were both things that I took into account while shopping for my kids.
The school uniforms
Start getting out the kid’s uniforms NOW…….!! Don’t leave it until the night before, whatever you do. Make sure everything fits, is clean and all the items are there and in tact. I find it is a good idea to have a separate place for school uniforms – either a designated drawer, shelf, basket, you get the idea. It saves time and stress in the mornings when you have so much to do already.
Those lunch plans
Meal planning before you do the weeks shopping will make all the difference to your week I promise! Write it up in an obvious place (ie: the fridge) for everyone to see. Make some of the family favs and try a few newbies here and there. No more “What’s in my lunch mum?!” or screaming off to the supermarket at the last minute.
That morning routine
The first day of school is no time for a drastic adjustment of sleep schedules. Make life a tad easier for everyone and ease children back into a school year routine gradually. During the last two weeks of summer, re-introduce a school year bedtime.
Begin waking late sleepers earlier and earlier, closer to the time they need to get out of bed on a school day.
