Week 3 Recap – Just give me all the freaking food! The Weigh-In

This week I turned 30 and I didn’t eat all the cake.  As much as I wanted to eat the whole cake I exerted something I wouldn’t normally use when it came to birthday cake, self-control.  I didn’t even eat this whole piece of cake.. seriously it’s like I don’t even know myself anymore.   Do you like my dramatics?  (ha)  Give me allll the food.
Everyone keeps telling me how amazing the 3os are, we will see. We will see.

Monday was Auckland anniversary day and I still clambered out of bed at 6.30am to head to the morning workout.
Tuesday I felt ill and it was my birthday so I took the day off.

My sore leg has been much better this week.  So yesterday I did the stairs and felt really strong – managed to do some sit-ups as well – small wins.

Food for me has been a challenge, I have gone from not eating breakfast to eating it everyday.  I really want to concentrate on eating  more in the mornings so I snack less in the afternoons.
I am making small changes every week to improve my meal planning and it paid of in the weigh in this week.  I go into every weigh in not expecting to lose, I can see the physical changes in myself already.

My kids can see it too, I always want to be better for them and making an effort to be fit and active is setting a great example for them.

Loss of 1.4kg

Total loss in 3 weeks

I am happy with this, I refuse to fall into my old patterns of starving myself of food and then falling of the healthy eating wagon completely.  Slow and steady wins the race and making changes gradually should help me keep those changes long-term.

    You resisted red velvet cake? You’re a stronger woman than me! 🙂

    Seriously though, with regards to your 30s being awesome, I don’t think it’s that simple. I’ve just turned 32, and I’m enjoying my life, but I enjoyed my 20s too! My life, for the most part, just involves different stuff now. I think the key is just to do what you enjoy, no matter what your age 🙂
