Why I am participating in The Great Community Clean Up

April 18, 2017

When I go and visit my Dad I drive along the back rural roads, along the majority of those roads are huge ditches which fill with water and with all the rain we have been having they flood so much it cuts off the roads.
Anyhow I noticed recently a man pulling rubbish out of these gross gutters, piling them on the side of the road and collecting the rubbish –  essentially unblocking the drains and helping to ease the flooding
What a disgusting job I thought, he was on foot, it was raining, he didn’t appear to be working for the council, there were no vehicles with him.

He was just a guy doing his bit for his community.

If he can do that you can bet I can get off my ass and encourage my family come and participate with me.

I decided to join in with  The Warehouse and Neighbourly, to take part.

This event is happening between 27th April and 3rd May, so choose an area in your community and grab your clean up pack and get started – it’s that easy.

Register your clean-up event using the link below. Once you’ve signed up you’ll be sent a clean-up pack which includes rubbish bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, a $10 Warehouse gift card for other supplies, and a flyer with safety guidelines.

The people who register will go in the draw to win a $100 The Warehouse gift card!

During your clean-up event, if you share photos to Instagram using #CleanUpNZ you will also go in the draw to win 1 of 5 $50 gift cards! Any photos featuring kids will also go in the draw to win a prize for being a little tidy kiwi.
